The MCB2400 board connects the ASC0 on-chip serial UART to the MAX3243CA1 (U11), which converts the logic signals to RS-232 voltage levels. The ASC0 UART may be used in bootstrap mode to download other utilities for debugging or downloading flash.
The UART#0 USB connector can supply power to the board and be configured as a USB serial bridge for UART0 using jumpers J30 and J31.
The UART#1 DB9 connector is wired as an 8-wire RS232 modem interface as shown in the figure below.
