MCB2400 User's Guide

CAN Interface

The CAN Interface use the TJA1040 CAN driver (U10) and termination resistors (R40 for CANH and R41 for CANL) on the MCB2400 board. The driver settings may be changed by the configuration jumpers at J34. Installing the configuration jumpers at the CAN1 position, connects P0.0 and P0.1 to the CAN driver U10. Installing the jumpers to the CAN2 position, connects the CAN driver to P0.4 and P0.5.

MCB2400 Board CAN

The CAN DB9 connector is wired such that Pin 2 provides the CANL signal and Pin 7 provides the CANH signal from the TJA1040 CAN driver IC.

Note

  • CAN termination resistors make it easy to connect the MCB2400 board to your CAN network but they are not always required. When connecting the MCB2400 Board to a CAN network, you may need to remove the termination resistors.
