Introduction

You may use the Cortex-M3 based MCB1800 Evaluation Board to generate and test application programs for the NXP LPC18xx microcontroller family or the Cortex-M4 based MCB4300 Evaluation Board for the LPC43xx microcontroller family. With this hands-on process, you can determine the hardware and software requirements for current and future product development.

The MCB1800 Evaluation Board ships with the LPC1850 device that is a superset of several other device variants of the LPC18xx microcontroller series. The MCB4300 Evaluation Board ships with the LPC4350 device that is a superset of several other device variants of the LPC43xx microcontroller series. The MCB1800 and MCB4300 boards contain all the hardware components required in a single-chip LPC device-based system.

• The MCB1800 and MCB4300 use the same base board and on-chip peripherals. Only the MCU is different between the two boards. For the purposes of this manual, except as noted, all references to the MCB1800 board pertain to the MCB4300 also.
