Connecting with ULINK2

To use the MCB1200 Evaluation Board with ULINK2, you must:

  • Connect the 10-pin ULINK2 ribbon cable from ULINK2 to the Cortex Debug connector (P3) of the MCB1200 board.
  • Connect ULINK2 to the PC via a standard USB A/B cable.
  • Connect power to the MCB1200 board using a standard USB A/B cable.
  • Refer to Setting the Serial Wire Clock for your ULINK2 adapter.

The following picture shows how to connect ULINK2 to the MCB1200 board.

Note

  • If your application program puts the ARM device in idle or power-down mode, the CoreSight debug port in the LPC122x core (and subsequently the ULINK2) stops working. Therefore, do not put the Cortex-M device into the power saving modes during the software development cycle.
  • ITM and DWT trace debugging are not available with this device because the NXP LPC1227/301 device does not provide the Serial Wire Output(SWO) signal needed for these options. As a result, the Logic Analyzer and OS Event Viewer features of the debugger are also not available because they require the SWO signal.
