Licensing User's Guide

Floating License Administrator

The Floating License Administrator is responsible for creating the Floating License File (*.FLF) on a network server. Each workstation that uses the FLF must have access to the server and must use the identical Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path (for example, \\server\share\folder). Each user must have read/write/modify access rights to the FLF file.

To create a Floating License File...

  • Open the dialog File - License Management... - Floating License Administrator.
  • Enter the path where the Floating License File should be saved. This folder must be a network drive.
  • Enter the PSN of the Floating-User License.
  • Click the button Create FLF....

Note

  • It is impossible to change the path to the Floating License File after the first license has been obtained from the Keil web site.
  • Windows Roaming User Profiles, which include registry copy, are incompatible with Keil Floating Licensing.
