Retrieve a FlexNet License File

  1. Logon to Generate Licenses Page. An account is required.

  2. Enter the Personal Serial Number (PSN).

  3. Click Get License.

  4. Select ETHERNET as HostID Type 1 and enter the MAC address of the server which will run the FlexNet Publisher software into the HostID 1 text box. In case the license server has multiple network interfaces, enter only one MAC address. Three MAC addresses are used only when a three (redundant) server license has been purchased.

    The HostID 1 text box only accepts MAC addresses with 12 digits without any embedded dashes or spaces.

    If you are working on the license server or if you are connected to the license server via remote desktop, do the following to find the MAC address:

    In a Windows Command Prompt window, enter ipconfig -all to get the MAC addresses of all installed network interfaces on this server. The MAC address is listed under Physical Address for each network adapter. Be sure to remove the embedded dashes before you copy the MAC address into the HostID 1 text box.

    If the FlexNet Publisher software is already installed on the server, run the lmutil lmhostid command to get the MAC address of the server. This command outputs the MAC address in the right format for the HostID 1 text box.

  5. Click Generate.

    View Licenses

  6. Click Confirm.

  7. Click Download License to display the license file, then Download to save your license file.

  8. Continue with Download FlexNet Publisher Software.
