| Hardware ConfigurationThere is little you must do to configure your hardware for ISD51. Primarily, the RS-232 signal lines from the PC must be connected to your target hardware. Following is a description of all the signal lines and how they are used. | Signal | DTE Direction | DB9 Pin | Required | Description |

| TD | Out | 3 | Yes | TD (Transmit Data) is data transmitted from the PC (to ISD51). | | RD | In | 2 | Yes | RD (Receive Data) is data received by the PC (from ISD51). | | GND | - | 5 | Yes | Ground connection. | | DTR | Out | 4 | No | DTR (Data Terminal Ready) may be used to reset the ISD51 hardware. This signal level may be configured for either high, low, or pulsed operation in the µVision ISD51 Configuration Settings. | | RTS | Out | 7 | No | RTS (Request To Send) may be used to reset the ISD51 hardware.
