The DBIT statement reserves the specified number of bits in
a
bit or ebit segment.label is a
symbol that is assigned the current memory address. expression
is the number of bits to reserve.
This statement reserves space in the current memory space and
increments the location counter by the number of bits reserved.
Note
The A251 Assembler is a two-pass assembler. Symbols are
defined and the length of each instruction is determined in the
first pass. In the second pass, forward references are resolved
and object code is produced. The expression used with the
DBIT statement may not include forward references.
