C51: INVALID SERIAL NUMBER/UNABLE TO INSTALL FROM CD

SYMPTOMS

I have just received version 5.50 of the C51 tools and when I attempt to install the software from the CD, I am informed that my serial number is invalid.

CAUSE

The CD has been provided so that you may evaluate or install our C166 tools, which use a different format of serial number. The unrestricted C51 tools are not present on the CD.

RESOLUTION

Install your new C51 tools from the set of floppy disks that you received. Your serial number will be accepted without a problem.
