BL51: WARNING 7 (MODULE NAME NOT UNIQUE)

Information in this article applies to:

  • C51 Version 5.50

SYMPTOMS

I'm using the SRC directive to convert some C files to assembly, and when I link, I receive the following warning:

Warning L7: Module Name Not Unique

CAUSE

This occurs because the Assembly files generated have the same root name as the C files, and both are included in the link by µVision. This tells µVision to look for two object files of the same name.

RESOLUTION

The quickest way around this is to edit your project options. For the C files being translated to assembly, uncheck the box labeled "Include in Link/Lib". This prevents µVision from trying to link the C files in question; only the assembly files are linked in.

MORE INFORMATION

  • Refer to Warning L7 in the BL51 User's Guide.
