MCBX51: ADDRESS PADS ARE REVERSED

Information in this article applies to:

  • MCB251 Evaluation Boards

QUESTION

It seems that the address pads on my MCB251 board are backwards. A0-A7 are really A8-A15 and A8-A15 are really A0-A7.

ANSWER

This is correct. The silkscreen on some of the boards manufactured in early 1997 was incorrect and these sets of pads were reversed. The following pads were swapped:

A0 <=> A8
A1 <=> A9
A2 <=> A10
A3 <=> A11
A4 <=> A12
A5 <=> A13
A6 <=> A14
A7 <=> A15

This problem has been corrected in board manufactured since mid 1997.
