  • DS-MDK 5.27 used with Japanese Windows

QUESTION

I'm using DS-MDK version 5.27 on a Japanese Windows OS. When I open the CMSIS Pack Manager perspecive, I cannot see any content in the Boards window.

ANSWER

This is a known problem in DS-MDK version 5.27 which only affects customers using a Japanse Windows OS. You may want to perform the following two steps to apply a patch which fixes this issue:

  • Locate the following files in the path C:\Program Files\DS-MDK v5.27.0\sw\eclipse\dropins\plugins and either delete or rename them:
    com.arm.cmsis.pack.common_2.2.0.20170426_161840.jar
    com.arm.cmsis.pack.dsq.engine_1.0.0.20170426_161840.jar
    com.arm.cmsis.pack.installer.ui_2.1.1.20170426_161840.jar
    com.arm.cmsis.pack.installer_2.1.0.20170426_161840.jar
    com.arm.cmsis.pack.project_2.2.0.20170426_161840.jar
    com.arm.cmsis.pack.ui_2.2.0.20170426_161840.jar
    com.arm.cmsis.pack_2.2.0.20170426_161840.jar

  • Extract the attached file into the same folder.

Start Eclipse. You will receive an error message CMSIS Pack root folder is not specified. The CMSIS Pack root folder can be re-selected this way:

  • Pull-down menu Window -> Preferences
  • Select "CMSIS Packs" on the left hand side of this dialog
  • Enter or select the "CMSIS-Pack root folder" on the upper right corner of this dialog. This is usually
    "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ARM\CMSIS-Packs".
