CMSIS: error at creating CMSIS-DSP libraries

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • MDK-ARM Version, until V5.15

I am using common signal processing functions for use on Cortex-M processor based devices.

These functions are supported with CMSIS-DSP software libraries.

With i.e. a new version of the ARM- or GNU-Compiler released, I like to update these libraries.

But at creating the libraries the log-files report errors, i.e.

Rebuild target 'M4lf'
compiling arm_abs_f32.c...
--- Error: failed to execute 'arm-none-eabi-gcc'
".\IntermediateFiles\M4lf\libarm_cortexM4lf_math.a" - 1 Error(s), 0 Warning(s).
Target not created.

What is the reason and how can I solve this problem?

This error results if the folder C:\TEMP is missing.

Just create this folder and restart the corresponding GNU-/ARM-batchfiles.

With any version of MDK-ARM higher than V5.15 this folder no more is required.
