SWPACK: MDK-5 + SOFTWARE-PACK Offline-installation

QUESTION

How do I install MDK-5 and Software Packs on my PC, which is not connected to the Internet ?

REQUIREMENT

You must have access to the Internet on another PC

ANSWER

  1. On the PC connected to the Internet, open this link to download the latest MDK-5 version: MDK-ARM Software
  2. Download the corresponding Software Pack at: MDK5 Device List  This link displays a list of the microcontroller vendors and devices supported by MDK Software Packs.
  3. IF you do not see your device or are working with an MDK V4 project, download the Legacy Pack based on the device architecture (ARM or Cortex) at: MDK Version 5 - Legacy Support.
  4. Copy all these downloaded files to a USB-Stick.
  5. Plug the USB-Stick into the target PC which is not connected to the Internet.
  6. Start the MDK-5 installation as explained at: Node Locked License: Installing a LIC or: Floating License: Installing a LIC.
  7. Install the Legacy Pack by double-clicking on the MDKCM*.exe- or MDK79*.exe-file on your USB-Stick.
  8. Install the Software Pack by:
    • Double-clicking on the .pack file on your USB-Stick and confirming the destination path, or
    • Open MDK-5, select the Pack Installer and use File/Import.
