ULINK: Error: Cannot Write to RAM for Flash Algorithms

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

SYMPTOM

Flash download does not work with Texas Instruments (formerly Luminary Micro) LM3Sxxx devices in MDK-ARM version 4.22(a) when reset-type "Autodetect" is selected in the ULINK2 or ULINKpro driver setup dialog. The following error dialog is displayed:

Cannot Write to RAM for Flash Algorithms !

RESOLUTION

Please download the attached ZIP file and extract it into the C:\Keil\ARM\BIN folder. If MDK-ARM is installed in a different folder, please adapt the path accordingly.

STATUS

This issue will be solved in MDK-ARM versions greater than 4.22. The attached files only work for MDK-ARM version 4.22!
