µVISION DEBUGGER: DEBUGGING WITH ST-LINK THROUGH A USB HUB

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • MDK-ARM Version 4.14 and older

PROBLEM

When I try to debug my STM32 Discovery board application through a USB hub, I receive the message:

Memory Verification Error

If I connect directly to my PC's USB connector, the debugger works perfectly. How can I debug using a USB hub?

SOLUTION

The attached update to the ST-LINK driver from STMicroelectronics corrects this issue with USB hubs. Install this update as follows:

  1. Close all instances of µVision.
  2. Extract the attached .ZIP file to the folder where you installed the Keil tools (the default folder is C:\Keil\). Make sure to use the Use Folder Names option is checked in WinZip.
  3. Restart µVision.
