ULINK: FLASH TIMEOUT ON LUMINARY DEVICES

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • MDK-ARM, V4.12 and earlier

SYMPTOM

When I try to flash a program to a Luminary LM3S9Bxx device, I get a flash timeout error.

CAUSE

Later versions of TI/Luminary (Stellaris) devices require an update to the LM3S_xxx Flash algorithms supplied with the MDK-ARM tool chain.

RESOLUTION

See the Attached Files section below to obtain the updated Flash algorithms for Stellaris devices.

To install this update:

  1. Download the ZIP file from the Attached Files section below.
  2. Close all instances of µVision.
  3. Extract all of the files to the [installation_path]\ARM\FLASH\ folder. [installation_path] is the drive and folder where you installed the Keil MDK-ARM tools. The default is C:\KEIL\
  4. Restart µVision.

Your LM3Sxxx Flash algorithms are now updated.

STATUS

This update will be included in the next MDK-ARM release.
