ULINK: USING ULINKME WITH CAN APPLICATIONS

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • ULINK-ME Users

SYMPTOM

The CAN MCB2300 example applications do not receive or transmit properly when debugging with a ULINK-ME adapter. They work OK if ULINK or ULINK2 adapters are used.

CAUSE

You are powering your MCB2300 board via the ULINK-ME adapter. This adapter supplies 3.3 volts. The MCB2300 board's CAN transceivers require 5.0 volts to work properly.

RESOLUTION

Connect a second USB cable between your PC and the USB connector on the MCB2300 board to provide the 5.0 volts the CAN transceivers require.
