µVISION DEBUGGER: CANNOT RENAME THE DEVICES IN JTAG CHAIN

SYMPTOM

In the ARM Target Driver Setup dialog, when I try to rename the devices in the JTAG chain, I have no radio buttons to select the device to which I want to connect.

CAUSE

A recent change in the JTAG Manual Configuration which requires users to exactly define the ARM core type debugged by ULINK.

RESOLUTION

Any "Device Name", in the JTAG Chain setup must begin with one of the following labels.

• "ARM7" or "ARM7TDMI" (ARM7TDMI, ARM7TDMI-S)
• "ARM7EJ" (ARM7EJ-S)
• "ARM9" or "ARM9TDMI" (ARM9TDMI)
• "ARM9E" (ARM9E-S)
• "ARM9EJ" (ARM9EJ-S)
• "ARM720" (ARM720T)
• "ARM920" (ARM920T)
• "ARM922" (ARM922T)
• "ARM940" (ARM940T)
• "ARM926" (ARM926EJ-S)
• "ARM946" (ARM946EJ-S)
• "ARM966" (ARM966E-S)
• "ARM968" (ARM968E-S)

Therefore, you cannot name an LPC2378 "MyDevice", but you can name it "ARM7_MyDevice".

If you have (for example) an LPC3180, you need to name it "ARM926_MyDevice"
