ARM: MDK 3.02 FOR EDUCATIONAL USE WITH ARM EVAL7T BOARD

PROBLEM

The ARM Eval-7T evaluation board is used in many universities and educational colleges, however it is not directly supported by latest versions of RealView Microcontroller Development Kit (MDK) when running in evaluation mode.

CAUSE

Some evaluation mode restrictions implemented in later versions of MDK using the ARM RealView compiler do not allow the example projects for Eval-7T to compile and link correctly.
NOTE: All other examples and evaluation boards directly supported by MDK work correctly in evaluation mode, this issue is restricted only to the ARM Eval-7T.

SOLUTION

Students and other users of the Eval-7T should use MDK v3.02a.

MDK 3.02a includes the Keil CARM compiler which can be used in evaluation mode together with the Eval-7T. Projects and examples will compile and link correctly
