ULINK: FLASH DOWNLOAD FAILS WITH STM UPSD DEVICES
Information in this article applies to:
- ULINK USB-JTAG Adapter
- ULINK2 USB-JTAG Adapter
- PK51 Version 8.06 and 8.08a
QUESTION
I have a ST uPSD3434 device and I am using ULINK to program and debug my application. As soon as I set the Security Bit in the chip configuration software (CAPS or PSDsoft) ULINK fails to download the application into flash. Is it possible to secure the on-chip flash of uPSD devices when using ULINK/ULINK2?
ANSWER
Yes, it is possible to secure the on-chip flash with ULINK. However, the ULINK driver which was delivered with PK51 version 8.06 or 8.08a was not able to do this. Please download an updated ULINK driver which is attached to this knowledgebase article. The downloaded ZIP file should be extracted to the \Keil\C51\BIN folder.
This knowledgebase article does not apply for PK51 versions earlier than 8.06 and later than 8.08a.
