MCB2300: MCB2368 RUNS INTERMITTENTLY

QUESTION

After downloading my application program to the MCB2368 evaluation board, it runs for a while, then stops. Downloading and single-stepping in the debugger sometimes hangs also. This same program downloads and runs with no problems on the MCB2378 board. How can I fix this?

ANSWER

This can happen on the MCB2368 board when the MAM timing is set to 4 fetch cycles. Change the MAM Timing (MAM Setup — MAM Timing) in the LPC2300.s startup file from 4 fetch cycles to 5 fetch cycles, then rebuild your program. Your application should download, debug an run reliably.
