LICENSE: ERROR R210 ON LICENSE CHECKOUT

QUESTION

We have a floating license for our Keil Development tools. When I try to check out a license, I get the following error:

*** ERROR R210: ACCESS ERROR - FLF FILE IN USE BY ANOTHER COMPUTER

But, no other computers are accessing this file. What could cause this error?

ANSWER

This error can happen if the user checking out the license has read-only access to the .FLF file. All µVision users must have read and write access to this file.
