µVISION DEBUGGER: GETTING FS2KEIL51.DLL NOT FOUND

PROBLEM

During debug or download using an FS2 System Navigator probe, you get the error:

*** Error: 'C:\PROGRA~1\Fs2\PHILIP~1\Bin\fs2keil51.dll' not found

But the fs2keil51.dll file does exist in that folder.

CAUSE

This can happen if there is more than 1 installation of the Keil tools on a PC when the FS2 System Navigator was installed, and µVision is being run from a different installation.

The FS2 System Navigator installs a number of files to the ..\UV3\ folder of the last Keil installation and the fs2keil51.dll driver attempts to load them. If this driver cannot find these files, it returns an "not found" error to µVision. µVision only knows that the fs2keil51.dll driver failed to load because of a "not found" condition, and displays the message you see.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this:

1. Uninstall the FS2 System Navigator.
2. Reinstall the Keil tools to the folder where you want the FS2 System Navigator installed.
3. Reinstall the FS2 System Navigator.
