µVISION DEBUGGER: GPIO PIN OUTPUT

SYMPTOM

I want to view the output of a peripheral on Port 0, Pin 7.  When I set the Logic Analyzer watch P0.7, I don't see anything.

CAUSE

P0 is not the simulator's representation of the physical port 0 pins.  P0 is the device's internal register for GPIO port 0.

RESOLUTION

To watch the actual state of the pin, you need to set the Logic Analyzer to view the Virtual Target Register "PORT0".

Watching PORT0.7 clearly shows the signal you expect.
