ULINK: ATMEL AT91SAM7 DEVICE DOES NOT REACT

QUESTION

I have accidently miss-configured the AT91SAM7S device in my target board. Now it is impossible to get any JTAG communication working with the device. Is there any way to recover the device?

ANSWER

Yes. There is a way to recover the SAM7 device series. You must perform the SAM-BA boot recovery. On the AT91SAM7S-EK evaluation board, this is performed in the following way:

1. Power down the board
2. Close the TST jumper
3. Power up the board and wait 10 sec, then reset the board.

The AT91 will have the SAM-BA boot loaded in the flash memory which effectively erases the user application.
