MCBXC167: ERASING/PROGRAMMING EXTERNAL FLASH

QUESTION

I want to download and run my program in the external flash on my MCB-XC167 board, but µVision will not erase the flash or download my program into this external flash. What can cause this?

ANSWER

The EA switch (DIP Switch 10) on the MCB-XC167 board is turned off by default to allow programs to load and run in on-chip flash.  To load and run your program in external flash, the EA switch should be set ON.
