EPM900: LPC9102 FLASH CANNOT BE PROGRAMMED

QUESTION

When I try to load the flash of my LPC9102 in ICP (In Circuit Programming) mode, I get the following error messages in µVision:

*** LPC900 EPM Loader V1.01
*** LPC900 EPM Programmer V1.20
*** Error: This is not P89LPC9102 device.

Emulation mode works fine.

ANSWER

The EPM900 probably cannot read the Device ID when trying to initialize ICP mode. If the device signature does not read out, the most likely root cause is that the device has not properly entered ICP mode. The waveforms should match this Philips specification:

Please make sure, that this is the case on your hardware using a scope.
