LICENSE: FLOATING LICENSE: NAME NOT DISPLAYED

QUESTION

We have installed a Floating User License and we are using it. But when I am reviewing the current users, the list appears to be empty. What can be wrong here?

ANSWER

The user names are taken from the file C:\KEIL\TOOLS.INI. Make sure that this file contains a correct entry for NAME= under the section [UV2]. Also make sure that the section [UV2] appears at the beginning of the file.

ORGANIZATION="My Company"
NAME="Surname", "FirstName"
EMAIL="name@my-company.com"

You may also change the name entry when a user is working from two computers to distinguish the different workstations.

Example for the Notebook:

NAME="Surname-NB", "FirstName"
