QUESTION

I have made several hardware changes to my computer, and now, I receive the following error messages when I try to use the Keil development tools:

R201: INVALID LICENSE ID CODE (LIC)

and

R200: RENEW LICENSE ID CODE (LIC)

Do I need to obtain a new LIC after changing the hardware configuration of my workstation?

ANSWER

When you make a change to the hardware configuration of your workstation that affects licensing. The message RENEW LICENSE ID CODE (LIC) or INVALID LICENSE ID CODE (LIC) indicates such a hardware change. In this case you need to perform the following steps.

  1. Uninstall the existing license from your computer.
  2. Obtain a new LIC for this computer.
