C166: FLASH DOWNLOAD WITH ULINK FAILS WITH VERIFY ERROR

QUESTION

I am using ULINK with an Infineon XC16x Microcontroller. When I download my application to flash µVision reports Flash Download Failed during verify. The flash seems to be programmed correctly and my application runs as expected. How can I avoid this error message?

ANSWER

The ULINK driver which comes with version C166 5.05 has a problem verifying constants at odd addresses. This problem will be solved with every compiler release later than 5.05.

Meanwhile you can download the attached file below and unzip it to the folder \Keil\C166\BIN. This updates the ULINK Driver for XC16x (UL2OCDS.dll).

This problem was resolved in C166 Version 5.20 and later.
