µVISION DEBUGGER: ONE-SHOT SIGNAL FUNCTIONS

Information in this article applies to:

  • µVision Version 2 and Higher

SYMPTOM

When I define a simulator signal function, the simulator complains that I need to include a twatch(), even though this function performs a single action then exits, when I press a button.

CAUSE

Signal functions are intended to simulate repetitive actions.

RESOLUTION

You can call a user function from a button, the same as a signal function. Define your action(s) inside a function, instead of a signal function, and you won't be required to include any watch commands.
