MON166: CRASHES AFTER MONITOR IS REBUILT
Information in this article applies to:
- C166 Version 5.04
- C166 Version 5.05
SYMPTOM
When making changes to a Monitor-166 configuration, rebuilding the firmware project causes the monitor to fail. The specific symptoms of this are that the monitor crashes while it is downloaded to the target system. Everything works fine when using the pre-built monitor from the release files or using an older version (5.03).
CAUSE
In C166 Version 5.04 and 5.05, the MON.LIB file was modified to support new L166 Linker options. This file is required to rebuild the monitor. Unfortunately, the modified library was excluded from the actual release.
RESOLUTION
Use the MON.LIB that is available as an attachment to this Knowledgebase Article.
STATUS
This library will be included in subsequent releases.
