µVISION DEBUGGER: C8051F330 OSC READY BIT NOT SET IN SIMULATOR

QUESTION

When using the simulator on the Silicon Labs (Cygnal) C8051F330, if I enable the Internal Low-Frequency Oscillator, the simulator never sets the Ready bit (OSCLRDY in OSCLCN). Shouldn't the simulator set this bit automatically?

ANSWER

Yes, the simulator should do this. There is an update to the simulation drivers for Silicon Labs devices that corrects this behavior. To install this update, perform the following steps:

1. Close µVision if it is open.
2. Download the ZIP file that contains the update to these drivers by clicking the link in the Attached Files section below.
3. Unzip and extract the TCYG.DLL and DCYG.DLL file to the \C51\BIN folder where your µVision product is installed. This default location is: C:\Keil\C51\BIN.
4. Restart µVision.
