QUESTION

What does the VCC jumper on the ULINK USB-JTAG adapter board do?

ANSWER

JTAG requires a VCC power source. This jumper tells the ULINK board where the VCC power for the JTAG connector comes from. If the target development board provides this power, the jumper should be in the VCC to Ext. position. If the ULINK board is to provide VCC power for JTAG, the jumper should be in the VCC to 3.3V position.
