LICENSE: RE-LICENSING ISSUES

Information in this article applies to:

  • µVision Version 3

QUESTION

I have reinstalled Keil µVision3 IDE, but the IDE no longer accepts the License Identification Code (LIC) I had previously registered. What is wrong?

ANSWER

The License Identification Code (LIC) is keyed to the computer on which the software was licensed. If your computer has had any major modifications made to it the LIC may no longer work. Major modifications include a change in hardware and/or operating system. If this is the case you must re-license the software and obtain a new LIC.

Obtaining a new LIC is easy. Follow the same steps you used when you first licensed the software.

Make sure you use the same e-mail address you used when you first licensed the software. Using a different e-mail address may complicate the license verification process.

If you receive a warning from the License Management web page and you are unsure of how to proceed, contact Keil Technical support for assistance.
