QUESTION

I've installed the latest version of my Keil product, and I am prompted to register my product. When I try to register I get a message:

Problems were detected with the information submitted.
Please correct these issues and re-submit the form.

The serial number is shown as invalid.

I'm using the number printed on the CD package I received. What am I missing?

ANSWER

For all ARM Versions, C51 version 8.00 and later, and C166 versions 5.00 and later, you must register using your License ID Code (LIC) number instead of the Product Serial Number (PSN) from your CD.

If you have not yet obtained a LIC number, do the following:

  • Start µVision, select File, then License Management.
  • On the License Management dialog, click the Get LIC via Internet button.
  • When the License Management web page displays, fill in the form and enter your PSN into the Product Serial # (PSN): text box.
  • Finish filling out the form and click Submit.

You will receive e-mail with a 30-digit LIC code. You may use this LIC code to register your product.

Make sure you add your new License ID Code into the License Management dialog in order to activate the full version of the software. Without a valid license, the software will behave like an evaluation copy.

In case you need to re-register, keep track of which email address you used to register for a LIC.
