ULINK: ARM DEBUGGER CRASHES

Information in this article applies to:

  • ULINK version 1 USB-JTAG Adapter
  • µVision version 3 and older

QUESTION

I have updated my system to the latest version of DK-ARM and I have selected the ULINK ARM DEBUGGER driver under Options — Target — Debug and Options — Target — Utilities. Now my system crashes (the BETA version worked just fine). What's wrong?

ANSWER

There is a potential upgrade problem of the KEILUL.SYS ULINK USB driver. If ULINK was attached while installing the update, you may still have the old KEILUL.SYS. You can verify the version number of the KEILUL.SYS driver as follows:

  1. Use Explorer to open the \Windows\System32\Drivers or WinNT\System32\Drivers folder.
  2. Right click on KEILUL.SYS and select Properties.
  3. The properties should report Version 2.10.0.0.

If this file is not present or is an older version you may download the current driver from the Attached Files section below and copy it to the drivers folder. You must restart your PC to load the new driver.
