C51: USING > 64KB EXTERNAL SRAM WITH C8051F12X DEVICES

QUESTION

Can the C8051F124 be configured for more than 64K of SRAM?

ANSWER

Yes. It requires the changes to the XBANKING.A51 file. See the Attached Files section below to download the version of this file modified for C8051F12x devices. You must use the LX51 linker which only comes with the PK51 professional developer's kit.

The attached file uses port 3 for the upper address bits, but any of the lower ports P0, P1 or P2 may be used instead.
