µVISION DEBUGGER: ACCESS BREAKPOINTS ON CYGNAL HARDWARE

SYMPTOM

I'm trying to set an access breakpoint on my Cygnal target hardware, using the Cygnal JTAG adapter. µVision responds:

Error 73: unsupported breakpoint type

CAUSE

The Cygnal serial/JTAG adapter, and associated driver DLL, only allows the use of hardware breakpoints. This means that the only breakpoints that can be set are on execution.

RESOLUTION

Unfortunately, access breakpoints cannot be used with the Cygnal serial/JTAG adapter.
