µVISION DEBUGGER: ONLY UPPER BYTE IS TRANSFEERED DURING PEC

Information in this article applies to:

  • Keil C166 Compiler 4.27

QUESTION

The simulator does not seem to be performing PEC transfers correctly. According to the documentation I have, the PEC is set up to transfer a word, not a byte. However, it seems to be transferring a byte only.

Here are the lines of code:

  PECC3  =  0x00Ff;      // load PECC3 control register
  SRCP3  =  _sof_(&CC1);
  DSTP3  =  _sof_(&CC28);

This is set up to transfer a word, but transfers only a byte.

ANSWER

There was a bug in the drivers for the C167 chips that came with version 4.27. This is corrected in the C166 V5.00 update.
