EPM900: PROBLEMS WITH PROGRAMMING/EMULATION MODE SWITCH

QUESTION
I have a problem with the EPM900 hardware. When starting the debug session, I get the following error message:
You try to use target emulation while EPM900 is configured for programming mode. Set jumper JP1 and JP2 to position EMU and retry.
Unfortunately, the jumpers are already in EMU position (I have verified this multiple times).
ANSWER
There is a potential timing problem in the EPM900 communication. This problem is fixed in the LPC2EMP.DLL V2.38 or higher. Please download the maintenance update for the LPC900 series that is available at http://www.keil.com/update/sw/lpc900/09.2003.
