FLASHMON: FLASHMON CRASHES WHILE LOADING ON ATMEL DEVICE

QUESTION

I am using FlashMon on my T89C51CC01. Although I installed the Monitor on my CC01 as documented, it reports

CONNECTION TO TARGET SYSTEM LOST

when I try to load my program.

ANSWER

The bootloader installed in the controller is too old. Install the UART Bootloader V1.4.0 (or greater) available at: www.atmel.com

This requires a parallel programmer and cannot be done via ISP(FLIP).
