ISD51: Using the TI MSC1210-DAQ-EVM BoardInformation in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMThe Texas Instruments MSC1210-DAQ-EVM board does not work with the ISD51 before version 2.03 (PK51 Version 7.06a). CAUSEThe MSC1210-DAQ-EVM board does not need an additional power supply. Its power supply is taken from the handshake lines RTS and DTR of the serial interface. These handshake lines need to be switched in a special way to perform a reset and to ensure a stable power supply when the ISD51 is started. RESOLUTIONYou need to have a PK51 Version 7.06a or later in order to use ISD51 with the MSC1210-DAQ-EVM board. Only these versions are able to generate the necessary pulses on the handshake lines of the serial interface. Be sure to select the following settings in the 'Options for Target' -> 'Debug' -> 'ISD51 Settings': RTS: Always high (active) DTR: Reset pulse: 500ms high, 10ms low MORE INFORMATION
