MCB900: MISSING PARTS (J2,R7,R8) ON THE BOARD

Information in this article applies to:

  • MCB900 Evaluation Boards

QUESTION

I have the MCB900 board Version 2, but the parts J2, R7, and R8 are empty. Do I need to add these parts before using the board? Why are these parts missing?

ANSWER

The MCB900 board uses the P89LPC932 E-step or F-step devices that have an enhanced flash ISP loader. This loader does not require extra jumpers or extra off-chip resistors. By omitting the jumper J2 and the resistors R7 and R8, you have an extra I/O pin available.
