QUESTIONI'm using the MCB900 Board and I have problems programming P89LPC932 devices. I know that there are different device steppings available. Can you give me information on how to program these devices with the MCB900 Board? ANSWERCurrently there are two MCB900 board variants and two P89LPC932 device versions available on the market. The following gives you a brief overview. - MCB900 With No Version: This board was designed for the C-Step devices that require the PROG jumper and FlashMagic for Keil MCB900 (which is supplied on the CD provided with the board).
To program F-Step devices, modify the board as follows:
- Disconnect IC3 - pin 8.
- Connect IC3 - pin 8 via a resistor (47K) to IC2 pin 14.
Then, insert the jumper into RESET for programming and use Flash Magic version 1.71 or later (http://www.esacademy.com/software/flashmagic). In FlashMagic, enable Use DTR and RTS to enter ISP mode under Options -> Advanced Options -> Hardware Config. - MCB900 Version 2 and later: This board was designed for F-Step devices (which do not require the additional PROG jumper). You must use Flash Magic version 1.71 or later (http://www.esacademy.com/software/flashmagic) with this board and these devices. It is not possible to program C-Step devices with this board.
