EPM900: SECTOR ZERO ERASE FAILED

Information in this article applies to:

  • EPM900 LPC Emulator

QUESTION

I have a problem with EPM900. When I attempt to program my LPC932 device I receive the following error:

*** Error: Sector zero erase failed

What is the reason for this error?

ANSWER

This error appears when you have a protection assigned over User Security Bytes using SECx where x is the sector number.

Sector 0 security is controlled by SEC0. You must make sure that SEC0 is not blocking programming. The easiest way to do that is to leave it unprogrammed. In the startup code (START900.A51), make sure you leave SEC0 set to zero. Also, make sure that it is set to zero under Options for Target - Utilities - LPC900 EPM Emulator/Programmer Settings - SEC0:.
