MON51: USING THE UV2 MON51 WITH THE CYPRESS CY3671

  • µVision all Versions 2.XX

QUESTION

I have the Cypress (AnchorChips) EZ-USB FX board with the CY3671 chip. I'm trying the get µVision debugger MON51 configured for SIO0 since I want to use the GPIF (general Purpose FIFO) that is available on the CY3671. The use of the GPIF FIFO's conflicts with SIO1 that the standard MON51 uses. What procedure do I use to configure and download the new MON51 using SIO0?

Are there any problems using µVision debugger MON51 on SIO0 with the CY3671 board?

ANSWER

The Cypress FX CY3671 EZ-USB kit comes with a WDW driver that loads the monitor automatically to the CY3671 when the device is plugged into the USB port. Once the monitor is loaded the Keil debugger then can talk over the configured serial port.

The Cypress kit comes with mon51 pre-built for a number of memory locations and serial port selections. By rebuilding the WDW driver with the appropriate monitor, you can select the monitor you need. You must configure MON51 using SIO0 when using the GPIF FIFO's. There are no known problems using µVision2 debugger MON51 on SIO0 with the CY3671 board.
