C51: ALTERNATE STARTUP CODE

SYMPTOMS

Many new microcontrollers have been developed in the past few years. Some of these devices require special startup code in order to properly initialize all on-chip peripherals and memory.

CAUSE

Many new devices have on-chip RAM, ROM, and/or FLASH memory that is disabled by default. Additionally, many devices include on-chip peripherals that must be enabled in the startup code.

RESOLUTION

Several new startup modules have been created to support these special devices.

• START_AD.A51: Startup code for the Analog Devices ADuC B2 devices.
• START_MX.A51: Startup code for the Philips 51MX devices.
• START390.A51: Startup code for the Dallas Semiconductor 390 and conpatible devices.
• START751.A51: Startup code for the Philips 750, 751, and 752 devices.
• STARTLPC.A51: Startup code for the Philips LPC devices.
• STARTUP.A51: Standard startup code.
• CONF151.A51: Configuration byte setup for the Intel 151 devices.

As new devices are added to the device database, startup code modules will be created as needed.
