C166: GENERATING PUSH AND JMP INSTEAD OF CALL INSTRUCTIONS

Information in this article applies to:

  • C166 Version 4.10a

QUESTION

Is it possible to instruct the C166 compiler to push a return address onto the user stack and execute a JMP instruction instead of a CALL? This would save space on the system stack at a hit on execution speed.

ANSWER

No. This is not possible with the current version of the C166 compiler. However, we are considering this for a subsequent release.
